I found these texts highly informative and even life changing I suggest they are read in the order listed if possible.

For those who want a practical grounding in Chinese medicine structure

The Web that has no Weaver byTed Kaptchuk-. Basic text for acupuncturists.  Good introductory text for student and layperson alike.

Chinese Acupuncture and Moxibustion  by Cheng Xinnong. Basic text for acupuncturists.  Very straighforward. One of the standard texts of schools. Used texts are available on-line.

Medical Qi Gong by Jerry Allen Johnson.  First of several volumes.Basic text but become complex fairly quickly.  Acupuncture from a Daoist twist.  Incorporates esoteric aspects of Oriental Medicine.

For The Novice Interested in the "Energetics".

Rene Descartes- Meditations-  Free

Tao de Ching- Ancient Chinese text.  One of the philosopical origins of Chinese medicine.  Similar to Descartes but filled with circular reasoning.  Free

Celestine Prophecy- fiction text-filled with lessons and advice as one is on their journey to learn.

Every Thing Counts- A bit of an instructional on how important each of us are in the world.  Don't get hung up on the Buddhist aspects.

Anatomy of the Spirit by Caroline Myss. Detailed introduction to the Chakra system.  Included life lessons and  compares the chakras to sacraments.

Hands of Light by Barbarba Ann Brennan- A how-to-book of healing and basic anatomy.

Essential  Rei Ki by Diane Stein - A great way to build a foundation of understanding.  After this text you may want to seek out attunements.
